Since my commitment to surrender many teachers have shown up to guide me. They have primarily come in the form of books (although some have also arrived in person.) I started doing the process covered in The Artists Way by Julie Cameron two weeks ago. I have opened that book at least 20 times in the last 10 years and it never called to me. But now it does.
The student is ready and so the teacher arrives. I wonder how many other teachers came to me in the past but because they didn’t proffer a gilded path to riches I ignored them?
At its essence The Artists Way is about opening up to the creator within. Because I could not previously find a direct tie between that and making money it didn’t make sense. Now it does. Money arrives in many ways but if you are not engaging life fully with a creative spirit the money is dull and useless.
The creative spirit needs rest and play, nourishment and love. It needs attention.
How have you been treating your creative spirit? Have you given it attention lately? Are you sleeping well? Do you take time to play? Have you had any fun lately?
Sleep, play and fun may be things that you think you can put on hold until you create the success in your business but they are not. They are essential to joy and when you think about why you are growing this business, isn’t it to achieve joy?
