Hey, there, welcome to this episode of the space for magic podcast. I’m your host, Patty Lennon. And today, I want to ask you a question. Are you tired of making it happen, or feeling like for you to be a good fill in the blank, you need to make it happen. You know, I was scrolling through my feed and social media and I received these messages of you know, I’m an entrepreneur, so I get a lot of ads for businesses, and there’s a lot of like, become a boss Babe and make it happen and write a book in, you know, five days or less, or whatever. And you the energy of that just felt very intense. And I don’t know, so outdated would be the best word I have worked. But then it occurred to me, maybe it’s actually that I am just getting old.

I just celebrated my 51st birthday. And I find myself more often than not saying I’m too old for this shit. I am just too old for this shit. And I think that might be a little bit of what’s going on. And hey, if you’re with me on that energy, no matter how old you are, then I think you’ll understand why. When I decided to offer a new free program that I used to call manifest your dreams, which sounds sparkly and lovely. I changed the name to manifestation for grownups, because I wanted to make sure that people who saw it in the world would know, this was not going to be filled with a lot of nonsense about yay, let’s pretend that we’ve got all the energy of the world, right? Even on the landing page where people can opt in for it. It says, you know, a no nonsense approach to designing and receiving the life you want. And then imprint seeds, even if all you want is to take a nap. Right? Which by the way, I asked people what they most want, I guide them through an exercise when I’m speaking, where I have people put their hands over their hearts and during connect them there and get the answer to what they most want and need right now. And like 80% of the people are saying that, so if you hear me and agree with me about the nap part, believe me, you’re not alone. You’re not alone. Most of us are weary, we are weary, right. So if you’ve been looking for an event specifically designed to that mindset, of you know, maybe you’re a little bit too old for a lot of the stuff that’s out there, and you know, you’re just kind of weary. But at the same time you would like something exciting and better for yourself and maybe help bringing it in, well, then you will probably want to take part in manifestation for grownups. And if that’s the case, go to PattyLennon.com/manifest, and you will be able to get the access to that information that starts October 17. And leading up to that date that we start, we’re going to be doing a lot of fun pre game activities that’ll get your energy boosted. As I’m recording this podcast, it’s a few weeks before we’re actually going to be doing the manifestation for grown up five day event. And I should mention during the five day event, even though five days sounds like a really long time, I wanted to just let you know and commit to you that even though it’s takes place over the course of five days, you only need 15 minutes each day to accomplish The exercise that happens on that particular day, so don’t feel like it’s going to be this day long or days long event. It’s not, it’s 15 minutes to start to finish each day for miraculous results. So while I’m recording this, it occurred to me that there’s some stuff going on in my kids school that really tie in to what I’m talking about, around this energy that we’re feeling, especially about, you know, just not really wanting to have to make it happen anymore. Right. And this is maybe you may resonate with what’s going on in their school, especially if you’re the type of person that’s the cheerleader for the people you love. Not cheerleader, like, you get dressed up like a cheerleader, meaning you’re the one cheering everyone on, you’re the one rallying the troops, you’re the one getting things to move forward in your family, your business, your community, whatever it is. So we are in a time of spirit week, right now in my kids school. And earlier in the week, my daughter said, you know, I think the senior so she’s an she’s a lower classmen I guess it’s I keep hearing upperclassmen. And I don’t know what the opposite of what that is maybe lower classmen. She’s in 10th grade anyway. So she was saying, Mom, I think the seniors are a little disappointed that people aren’t dressing up more. So during spirit week, there’s a whole bunch of events where you dress up in colors. And I mean, people are dressing up in colors, but I guess they’re not going over the top, the way they used to. Right. And we haven’t had spirit weeks, in a few years, because of COVID. For different reasons. There may have been one last year, but it must have been on a much smaller scale, because I don’t even remember hearing about it. And she said, I think you know, the seniors are disappointed that people aren’t like more, you know, participating more and more into it. I was thinking about that and talking through with her. And where we landed is that when you don’t have someone showing you the way when the energy of that spirit, right of the Spirit Week isn’t carrying over year to year to year, it’s much harder to pick that energy up. And what I mean by that is when you’re a young person, and you’re watching your older siblings participate in something, and then you come into the school as a freshman, and then it’s happening, and then sophomores and juniors, there’s just sort of this continuum that carries you along, it requires a lot less energy to get that spirit up. Because it’s almost like right there, it’s residual. And you’re following the lead of someone as opposed to creating your own momentum. This happens in race in car racing. I know I don’t know a lot about car racing. But I know that in car racing, I don’t even know if that’s the right word to use, but that a car will, you know, come up right behind another one because it saves energy saves gas, I guess. Because it’s not having to counter the wind that it’s going against, oh my god, I’m sure that was such a terrible explanation. And if you’re, if you’re into racing, you’re probably listening to me and cringe, feel free to email me and tell me what the proper terminology is that I should have been using. In any case, when you don’t have that and you’re starting from scratch, it takes a lot more energy. And it’s a lot harder to get that energy up. If you’re the one that has to start it right. It’s almost like if you’re kind of in with a crew, like within friends, and you all agree to do it, it almost gets easier, like a lot easier than if you’re doing it on your own. And so as I’m watching these kids, and just seeing all they’ve navigated over the years, I imagine, for any, any of them to kind of sum it off the energy to basically start a spirit week as opposed to continue it from the years before. It’s a whole different ballgame. And I was asking my daughter, you know, she thought that that may be a little bit it and she said, yeah, maybe that is it. Because you know, you can have kids doing pretty much anything. And if kind of everyone’s doing it, it’s just a lot easier to do. And as I was applying that thought process to what we’re going to be doing in manifestation for grownups that I realized that was part of my motivation for doing this five day event free. Now, in the past, I’ve only ever done it with private clients or in like retreats, and then most recently in my paid membership, and usually it is an event that you would pay for. But I realized that we could all use some help right now in getting the energy going in our lives in allowing flow into our lives. And this is something that I enjoy doing. So this is something I can put out in the world and if you You’ve been looking for someone to kind of help get the tail winds going behind your sail and get you you’re headed in the direction that you want to be going in. Or maybe you don’t even know which direction that is. But you just like some help starting and building some new excitement and energy in and attracting more fun into your life and new relationships and you know, abundance into your life. But gosh, you’re tired, well, then this is going to help because you know, I’ll be the one that’s bringing that energy to the group. And then you’ve got all the members in our membership that will be joining this event, you do not have to be a member to join the event. But our members who have already done it, once they’ve got the excitement around it, because they’ve already taken part in it. They know how well this works. And they’ll be there as well to kind of build that excitement for you. So if that sounds good, you can go to PattyLennon.com/manifest. And join us again, we’re not starting officially until October 17. But as you’re listening to this, we have already started the festivities around the program. So that wasn’t all that happened this week. In my kids High School. There was another probably, I don’t know what the right word is. Concerning might be. But I think it’s just a, it’s just symptomatic of the time we’re in, which is that homecoming is coming up the homecoming dance. And because of COVID and COVID limitations, the venue that they secured will not hold all the students and so they put the tickets on sale first to the seniors and the juniors and then to the sophomores and the freshmen. And when parents of the sophomores caught wind of this, or some of these parents, I should say I’m one of them. And, and I was you know, okay with it, but some got really upset and they started complaining to the school. And then the school stepped in. And even though this is a student run student led event this the school decided to cancel it in the venue that it’s going to be in move the dance to the gym. And now the parents of the older classmen the upperclassmen are upset because they feel these kids have missed out on so much. And now they’re missing out on their fancy homecoming and they’re going to have a homecoming in a gym. And the conversation got more and more embittered in the family Facebook group for the school and parents were yelling at other parents. There were students in the group also, and parents didn’t realize it. And then parents were yelling at students not realizing they were yelling at students. And all of a sudden, there was this deep conflict, this deep conflict in the group. And honestly, my son who is a senior, so I’ve got both sides of the spectrum. You know, he was asking me, you know, which Who do you think is right? And I said in true Libra fashion, I’m a Libra, I see both sides of it, I understand why one sets upset. And I understand why the other sets upset. And I also understand the perspective that this is a student led event. And I think we have to let the students kind of navigate this on their own. But I saw why each group was having the experience of this that they were having, and how it got more and more uncomfortable. And really at the root of it was a sense of scarcity and a sense of lack. The older classman parents felt like their kids had missed out on so much of high school. And they didn’t want them missing out on one more thing. The younger class man, the the younger kids, those kids missed out on a lot in middle school, and they didn’t want their kid missing out on one more thing. And then the students want you know, the students, especially the government, the student, government, individuals who actually were responsible for planning this, they were tired of being home and being bossed around by people and people being up their butts, and they just wanted to be able to play in something on their own right. And all of this comes from scarcity. All this comes from scarcity and lack because, you know, if we take a step back and by we I just mean the community, if all of us took a step back and looked we would see how much we actually have. How lucky we have been in this community, you know, the some of the struggles that other communities face through the pandemic and through other challenges. We’ve been, you know, devastating events and violence. We have not experienced that here in this community. We have so much. We have so much right. We’re so lucky that we can fund programs we’re so lucky that our kids have enough to eat we are so lucky we’re so Lucky, we’re so lucky. And this is how I generally feel. And that is not me saying I’m better. It’s not that at all. It’s just, I always know to remind myself of our blessings, right of how much we have, when we come back into this space of how much we have, it is much easier to have grace in difficult situations. But when we’re in perspective of lack and scarcity, whether real or imagined, it is much harder to have grace, it’s much harder to be kinder, which is also part of the motivation that I had for doing this upcoming five day event as a free event, versus having it be a paid event. Because I’ve seen how this process works. And I know that when people do it, they have blessings come into their life, small and big. The thing is, when we have blessings coming into our life, when we have overflow coming into our life, it is much easier to operate from a more loving perspective. Now do you have to have overflow to be loving and be kind, I mean, we can access loving feelings, we can access kindness at any time, it’s just harder. And I think that comes back to that place of if you’re tired of making it happen, you know, if you feel weary, my guess is also you’re experiencing some kind of lack. Now, it might be a lack of energy, it might be a lack of time, it might be a lack of support, it might be a lack of resources. But that lag just sort of pulls you down, it makes it harder for you to get your positivity and your kindness and your goodness and your excitement for life back up. Because you feel weighed down. And if that’s you, I just want to remind you, again, that’s part of my motivation for doing this new program manifestation for grownups and programs probably a bigger word than this requires because it’s not that much effort, right? It’s an experience this five day experience.

Because I know what that feels like, I know what that feels like, my husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary, and we were talking about, you know what it was like, over the course of our marriage at different times. And there was a time, you know, when we had so much debt when the kids were young, when my parents were still alive, but my mom was sick. And, you know, my dad had, you know, needed my attention. And you know, when you’ve got all of these things pulling on you, it’s a very different experience, than when you have a lot of lightness about you, when you don’t feel weighed down when you feel lifted up. You know, as I was talking to my daughter and son both about Spiro week and the stuff with homecoming dance. As they you know, they kind of discussed what they individually would want, you know, what they were seeing, their approach to all of this was far more reasonable and far more calm than what you know, the parents were experiencing. And I would say that goes across the board. For the majority of the students, I think the parents were far more upset. And like struggling with all this because I think they have a bigger sense of scarcity around what was lost than the students do. Because the students only know what they know, the parents were remembering their own experiences or the dreams that they had for their own kids, and feeling like that loss. But here’s the thing, it only takes a couple of people to shift the paradigm. Like already some parents are dropping in some love bombs, and the students are already moving on and making plans and that’s the coolest thing about us as humans, is as much as we might feel weighed down at times as much as we might find moving forward is hard. If we get a few positive, energized people around us that are willing to sort of cheerlead us forward rather than us being the cheerleader right, are willing to show us the way forward rather than us having to be the Wayshowers all of a sudden, it gets a lot easier and if you were looking for that if you’re looking for someone to sort of cheerlead you on if you’re looking for that community energy to bring you up to take you out of that stuck and way down feeling and if you’re looking to kind of move out of that role of the one that always has to make it happen and you would like for someone to just each day tell you one little thing you can do to start to shift the energy and the attraction And the what is showing up in your life. If that’s true, then I would love to be that person for you right now. So come on over Pattlennon.com /manifest, come join us for the experience, I know you’re gonna have a blast, we always have so much fun doing this. And I’m so excited to share it with you. And for now, what I want to remind you is there’s something you could do right now, to help refill that well at a very deep level. And that is to rest, even if it’s just to rest for the next five minutes. But if you can give yourself you know, an hour a day, whatever the amount of time is that you can give yourself to just disconnect, and the rest will make a big difference. Because if you’re like most, you’re tired right now. And rest is the antidote to feeling bone weary. So, with that, I send you my love. I hope you have a wonderful week. Make space for magic, and I hope to see you in our event. It’s going to be so much fun. Time to manifest like grownups. Hey, thanks for listening.
