There is a delusion many entrepreneurs hold that when you become successful things don’t go wrong, everything lines up and your world is neat and organized.
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
As you and your company grow you’ll need to make decisions daily that won’t always work out the way you want them to.
Success is messy.
Things go wrong. People let you down. You take a risk (on a new hire, an expensive launch, Facebook ads) and sometimes it works out and sometimes it sucks up your capital and you have to scramble to make a few sales just to pay your bills.
But here is what happens along the way. You learn to rely on yourself. You learn to believe in yourself. You learn that no matter what goes wrong you will figure it out.
You find flow.
If you are craving a new level of success and waiting for something outside yourself to let you know when you get there you are looking in the wrong place.
I say this with love.
Success is an inside job. And it doesn’t matter what is going on outside of you.
Everything that needs to change is on the inside.
You’ve got to pay more attention to how awesome you are, all the obstacles you’ve navigated, all the love you’ve given to the world. You’ve got to stop taking the things you’ve gotten wrong so seriously.
The cool thing about all this is that when you start focusing on your awesomeness you will start feeling more successful and that tends to usher in its own abundance and miracles pretty quickly.
