“I’ve tried everything. It may just be time to give up. This business isn’t working. Maybe there really are too many health coaches out there for me to be successful.”
Even as the woman on the other line said those words I knew they weren’t coming from her heart. She loves her business. She is really good at her business.
I had spoken with this same woman 18 months earlier and we had talked about different things she could do to grow her business. If she had really tried all of them I was stumped. This just didn’t add up.
I could feel that this was her calling. I had never seen the Universe fail to deliver abundance when we do everything we can do to create success.
As we dug deeper it became obvious that she hadn’t done EVERYTHING to grow her business. She had done everything that didn’t require her actually picking up the phone and speaking to people about what she does.
She had a beautiful website, a social media presence, a 30 second elevator pitch etc etc. What she didn’t have was any sales calls scheduled. Nor did she have a plan to have any sales calls scheduled.
GAH!
I offered her a challenge that I KNOW will change the trajectory of her business:
Do 20 sales calls in 20 days.
She told me that made her want to throw up.
Yes, good. Throw up. Then do 20 sales calls in 20 days.
I am not a cold, heartless b*tch. Really. I offered her this challenge with love. I have done this challenge with many of my private clients and it is TRANSFORMATIVE 100% of the time.
There are a number of reasons why it works so well but the few key ones are that this challenge:
- Burns up your ego’s hold on you and pushes you past your fear of rejection
- Increases revenue
- Reveals the gaps in your Marketing
Most people who avoid sales thing they are bad at sales. If you are a purpose driven entrepreneur its pretty much impossible to be bad at sales.
