I didn’t think I was, but after spending time with some pretty incredible women at the Super Mom Entrepreneur Conference last week I had to take a step back and re-examine that belief.
For instance, Nell Merlino, CEO and founder of Count Me In told me why she intends to create a generation of women millionaires…
Because one million women at one million dollars in revenue will create 4 million new jobs and pump 1 trillion dollars into the economy – Wow!
Ummmm, ok, maybe I have been playing a little small. I mean, I have been out here empowering women to pursue dreams, find purpose, embrace wealth and live with courage. Pretty good. But have I been reaching enough women?
And heck yeah, I want this business to be producing $1 million in revenues but have I been doing enough to move myself toward that goal? Hmmmmm…
I came away inspired to take bolder action, be bigger, offer more! And let me tell you, some pretty great happenings came out of all that big boldness!
For example, I had the free call Finding Joy No Matter What already scheduled so I decided to be bolder in my honesty, bigger in my vulnerability and the feedback has been overwhelming which led to me reaching far more women then I would have otherwise. I still receive e-mails daily from people around the world who tell me they received the recording from a friend or relative and it changed their day, week, life with that one call. Wow!
If you saw the video of Brené Brown present at TedX Houston you probably already understand why people are so excited about a recording where I am open, honest and vulnerable. Ms. Brown explains that vulnerability allows us to form powerful connections to others. Good stuff right?
Well, maybe, but also pretty freakin’ scary!
That is why we play small isn’t it? When we go big we risk rejection. Playing big makes us vulnerable. When we play big, we have the potential to fail big. When we play big, we have the potential to be rejected – big time! But so what?
Really, so what?!
Think about it. What are you giving up by playing small? What are you risking by not sharing your gifts fully in this world?
Happiness? Joy? Fulfillment?
Wealth? Abundance? Purpose?
The time for playing small is over! The Dalai Lama said “The world will be saved by Western Women.”
He was talking about YOU and ME!
Are you really ready to let a little fear stand in the way of saving the world? I’m not. Let’s play big together!
