Oh I just got the best surprise in my inbox. A few weeks ago I had done a podcast interview with the brilliant Nina Kaufman about how to scale your business organically. She just sent me the link to the interview. My surprise was the beautiful word document she also attached filled with Twitter and Facebook posts that were already written for me to share. She even gave me this super cool graphic to use:
I love the opportunity to share what I’ve learned about business with others through podcasts. I also like to help the host promote those podcasts. But often times my good intentions never see the light of day. The link to the podcast comes through on email and I think about promoting it but don’t get around to it because I don’t have time to write compelling social media.
Nina made it simple and easy for me. All I had to do was forward her pre-written social media to my assistant who schedules my social media and I was done. And Nina will get a bunch of free marketing from me.
Podcasts, webinars and interviews are a great way to position yourself as an expert and also create content that can be shared by others (aka free marketing.) Once you’ve created the content you want to make it super easy for others to share it for you. You also want to control the message they are sharing. So be sure to pre-write social media before you ask someone for their help promoting your stuff.
I’ve had clients resist sending pre-written social media when they request promotional help from friends and colleagues because they feel it look presumptuous. This isn’t the case at all. Help others help you by giving them the tools to do it and everyone wins!
Thanks for being here and reading my message. I want you to stay connected with me so that I can share all future communications with you.
