Last week I had the pleasure of celebrating Andrea Gartner’s grand opening of Pour Me in Danbury, CT. Pour Me is a coffee and wine bar. It is also a HUGE dream brought to life.
Andrea is both a client and friend and so I have had up close and personal knowledge of this dream-realization. As Andrea spoke to the many, many people gathered to celebrate her opening I cried.
I cried because I was ridiculously happy and proud of Andrea. I cried because Andrea helped her mom through cancer and ultimately through death at the same time she was bringing this dream to life and I could feel her mama’s love all around us. I cried because Andrea constantly reminds me of the power of dreams.
Andrea calls me her Dream Doula. I love that so much and for so many reasons. I truly believe that when each of us is living our path fully and bringing our soul’s dreams to life, the world will heal. It is a true privilege to be a part of the dream-birthing!
One of the reasons Andrea was able to bring her dream to life with grace despite the challenges she faced was that her dream came from the very depths of her soul and so she was powered by a force greater than simple human will. She was in alignment with the Divine (aka Source, God, Universe etc) and that power is beyond measure.
Prior to starting this journey she gave herself time to play in the dream state of creation. She let her mind and soul dance together to create a vision of the future, which ultimately led to the creation of her new coffee and wine bar. Pour Me is more than a simple eatery – it is part of the revitalization of an urban area that has amazing potential. It is a place that honors conscious eating and drinking and sources ingredients that honor that mission. It is a place where people of every ethnicity and age can meet and connect and share ideas.
Andrea isn’t just feeding people, she is feeding her customer’s souls and she is feeding the soul of her community.
When we tap into our soul’s deepest desires for our future there is a magnetic pull to the manifestation of those desires that is more powerful than any roadblock or challenge we may hit along the way.
I think the reason life or business feel so hard sometimes is because we haven’t made space to connect to that vision of the future or to really check in with our soul to see what the future is meant to hold.
In the business of life, we sometimes forget to make time to dream.
