I made a startling discovery today. My feet are extremely happy creatures!
I know – who would have thunk it?
Each day they slave away (my words not theirs) trapped inside shoes with very little say in where they go or how they go or when they get there (at least that is what I thought.)
Urged on by a tweet today I got up to do a little dance. My feet were thrilled. “Awesome!” they screamed. For that one minute, I felt their elation and it swept up my legs and through me.
When I sat back down to get back to writing, I checked in with my feet to see if they were too disappointed that we were back on the computer. (Yes I have regular conversations with my body – it has much to say! And if you didn’t realize I was this woo-woo well then you do now!)
Anywho, my feet were surprisingly fine with it. They would like to get out a bit more but are perfectly content for the most part and here is why:
- They love their health and vitality
- They give 110% every day
- They feel my appreciation for them
- And even when they go seemingly unnoticed, they fully own and appreciate the amazing contribution they make to my world
- They live in the moment – no past or present for these happy feet!
I was blown away. Right here with me every day were two such wise and knowing souls. And as I looked back over the list I realized that they were also my teacher.
Focus + Appreciate = Happy (Wait, didn’t I write about that?) Well, even when you know something you can learn it on a deeper level.
P.S. If you are inspired to appreciate your feet a bit more, click here for a video on Happy Feet by one of my favorite clients and entrepreneur gal pal, Patty Rose.
