Last week I shared the key to increasing your manifestation time was to take action in the face of fear. Following that article a client told me she knew exactly what she needed to do to uplevel her business. She was going to need a bigger business space.
She had found the perfect space. The dream of what her business would become in this new space was filling her heart and soul with joy. BUT she was afraid to take the next step. So we had this conversation:
Me: What’s the next step?
Her: I need to go to the bank and get a loan.
Me: Ok, so are you afraid of taking on the additional debt or are you afraid they are going to say “no”
Her: I’m afraid they will say “no”
Me: So the worst thing that could happen is that they say “no”
Her: Yes
Me: And then you don’t get the loan?
Her: Yes
Me: And then you can’t get your new space?
Her: Yes (sounding really sad and depressed)
Me: Good news!
Her: What?
Me: It’s already happened. Your worst fear has been realized. You don’t have the loan and you don’t have the space. See that wasn’t so bad! Now how ‘bout we try for that loan!
Isn’t it amazing how many times we stop ourselves from going after something we want because we might not get it when if we don’t go after it we definitely won’t get it? It’s crazy!
But its not.
The truth is what my client was really afraid of was being rejected. Hearing the words “no” bring up sh*t for almost every person because we all want to be loved, validated and accepted. When we ask for something (which is crazy hard for most healers, helpers and light workers) and we get a “no” we feel rejected. We make it mean something about us.
My client didn’t fear not getting the loan, she feared hearing that some nameless, faceless credit officer at the bank didn’t think she was worthy of the loan. My client wasn’t even conscious of the fact that this was what was really going on.
As we talked through it she quickly got to a place where she actually couldn’t care less about some nameless, faceless credit officer’s opinion. Once she opened up the space to pursue the loan she also opened up space for other ideas about how to raise the money she needed.
We talked about crowdfunding, investors and taking loans from family members.
None of these ideas had space as long as she was being controlled by fear but the minute she said “Screw it! I’m going for it!” the world became her oyster.
Is there a fear keeping you paralyzed right now? What would you need to feel safe to take the next step? If you need support share it in the comments below! And if you are ready to take the next step I dare you to commit to it in the comments below!
