We got our first daisies of 2018 last week. That may not seem remarkable but these daisies are miracle daisies. Well, they are miracles to me anyway.
We never planted daisies and yet last year they appeared out of nowhere, right around Mother’s Day. This year they came a little later.
Daisies were my mom’s favorite flower and what I discovered by speaking to them (yes I speak to flowers) was that my mom sent them with a message. A message I’ve been writing about here: Daisy Chronicles.
Since my mom crossed in 2012, I’ve had the privilege of being able to talk to her, get her advice, hear her wisdom. Almost always it all returns to one theme: love yourself more. After you do that you can love others more. That is all that matters.
No matter how tricky or complicated the dynamic or challenge I bring to her, the advice always returns to this. Love.
After she died one of the biggest gifts she gave me was to describe the first thing that happens when you cross over (or at least the first thing she could communicate to me.). She said when we are on earth we resist so much love available to us. We keep it at arm’s length because we doubt ourselves and our worthiness.
So when she crossed over she was overwhelmed by all this love. She and I had a close relationship but she said she could never have imagined how deep and full my love was for her until she crossed over.
She didn’t give me this information with any regret. She simply offered it as information.
My mom, while in human form, was like a lot of us. Always giving. Always caring. Always struggling to receive. The Divine, she confirmed, always balances that equation in the end but it’s up to us to decide whether we get to experience the balance of our giving to receiving here on earth.
Do things feel out of balance for you? Do you want more of something but aren’t sure how to get it? I can tell you what my mom would tell you if she were standing here (she is totally standing right here). She’d say start with loving yourself and for goodness sake, stop making it so hard for that love to be returned by others.
Open your heart wide to the world so the world can show you its thanks for all you have offered.
When I saw that first daisy last week I immediately heard my mom say two things “I’m still here” and “open that heart of yours, Patricia Ann, no one can do it for you.” So I’m passing that advice on to you.
If you are missing someone that has crossed over, fear not, they are close. And for goodness sakes, open that big heart of your’s, no one can do it for you!
In love and light,
Patty
